“Nightmare” Danny Davis, formerly known as “The Nightmare” in USWA and NWA and a former manager for Jerry “The King” Lawler,
founded OVW in 1993.

The company has had a hand in the training of John Cena, Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, CM Punk, Mickie James, Cody Rhodes, Shawn Spears
and a near-endless list of talent now seen on Monday and Wednesday nights. OVW became the world’s only state-accredited professional wrestling trade school in 2019, continuing a trailblazing path that the company has set for almost 30 years.
