OVW announces historic 1400th episode show

Louisville's Legendary Promotion Marks a Historic Milestone Over Three Decades in the Making

We are proud to announce the live broadcast of our 1,400th episode of weekly television, a landmark achievement that spans more than 28 years of uninterrupted programming and marks our place as the second longest-running weekly episodic tv show in history, behind only WWE RAW and ahead of WWE SmackDown.

Our story began in 1993, when "Nightmare" Danny Davis founded OVW and on January 16, 1998, we taped the first episode of our weekly television series from the original Davis Arena in Jeffersonville, Indiana. What started as a regional wrestling outlet would grow into one of the most influential training grounds and enduring television institutions the sport has ever seen. We then became the primary developmental territory for the WWE helping to develop future superstars with our state-certified wrestling academy continuing that legacy ever since.

We then had the global spotlight on us again with a Netflix documentary series called Wrestlers. The series debuted in 2023, and earned a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The exposure introduced OVW to a new audience and ushered in the next chapter for our promotion.

Reaching 1,400 episodes is a testament to all the hard work and passion of our talent, staff, volunteers and most importantly you the fans. We are proud to be a staple in the Wrestling world and with our weekly live show Rise we hope to keep delivering the next generation of professional wrestling stars to you for the next 1,400 episodes.

Join us for our 1,400th episode special on Thursday June 11, 2026, live from the Hotpoint Davis Arena in Louisville, Kentucky. For all media enquiries please contact info@ovwrestling.com
