The landscape of Ohio Valley Wrestling changed dramatically at the Saturday Night Special: Breakout on February 1, 2020.
Four championships were contested at the show, with three of them changing hands. Corey Storm successfully defended the RUSH Championship in the first match of the night, but later lost the OVW Tag Team Championships along with Dimes as the two fell to the Legacy of Brutality combination of Big Zo and Hy Zaya.
Max The Impaler has had a stranglehold on the OVW Women’s Championship since the Tuesday Night Fightmare back on October 29. Max’s reign ended 95 days later at the Saturday Night Special: Breakout when she fell to the returning Ray Lyn.
In the main event, Maximus Khan overcame 2020 Nightmare Rumble Winner Ca$h Flo from the Legacy of Brutality and “The Trinidad Titan” Justin Smooth to end Smooth’s reign as OVW Heavyweight Champion in a 3-way dance. The former Television and Tag Team Champion can now add the OVW Heavyweight Championship to his resume.
